Consideration of the initial report submitted by Saudi Arabia under article 8 (1) of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the involvement of children in armed conflict
September 2017
The report explains how the approach that Saudi Arabia took to protecting children was consistent with the Convention on the Rights of the Child and its Optional Protocols. It describes the legislations and policies aimed at upholding children’s rights, as well as the financial and technical resources allocated to child-support programs and services, and to children’s institutions to help them carry out their duties and train their staff. It also provides information about cooperation and interaction with international and regional organizations and civil society groups.
