Initial report submitted by Yemen under article 8 of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the involvement of children in armed conflict

January 2012

This report focuses mainly on the measures taken by the Government of Yemen to protect children from involvement in armed conflict in general and in hostilities with rebels in the governorate of Sa`dah in particular. It also describes the social, psychological, health and educational services provided to children during various armed conflicts in Yemen. We greatly appreciate the interest that the Committee on the Rights of the Child has shown in the children of Yemen and in all persons subject to the State’s jurisdiction.
