Consideration of report submitted by Iraq under article 8, paragraph 1, of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the involvement of children in armed conflict

This document is the initial report submitted by the Republic of Iraq concerning the implementation of the provisions of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the involvement of children in armed conflict for the period from 24 June 2008 to the date of drafting, pursuant to article 8 (1) of the Optional Protocol.

The report focuses on the integrated approach taken by the Government of the Republic of Iraq with a view to protecting children from all forms of exploitation, in accordance with the Convention and its Optional Protocols.
