The Second National Action Plan to activate the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security (2021-2024) (in Arabic only)
The Iraqi government adopted the second national plan to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (on Women, Peace and Security) in December 2020, based on gender equality and the basic rights of women that are consistent with International Conventions and relevant UN resolutions, as well as national strategies prepared by the federal government and the government of Kurdistan Region, in order to enhance the vital and active role of women in achieving development, and to combat violence against them.
In this context, the second national plan included clear objectives, specific procedures, expected results, measurable and time-bound indicators, in addition to monitoring and evaluation, while including the provisions of the Joint Statement between Iraq and the UN Secretary-General's Representative on Sexual Violence on combatting conflict-related sexual violence.
