Consideration of the second periodic report submitted by Algeria under article 73 of the Convention (Committee on Migrant Workers)

January 2016

Algeria highlighted in its initial report the progress made since the ratification of the Convention in strengthening democracy and building the rule of law, in particular, through the reform of State institutions and consolidation of democratic freedoms (justice system reforms). This report is divided into three sections:

  • The first addresses the Committee’s recommendations;
  • The second, providing general information, describes the State party’s current political structure and the framework for the promotion and protection of human rights;
  • The third provides information on the substantive provisions of the Convention that have prompted changes on the part of the State party since the submission of the initial report.
