March 2010
The report focuses on the integrated methodology practiced by the Arab Republic of Egypt for protecting children against all types of exploitation in keeping with the perspective of the Convention and its two Optional Protocols, comprising the following key areas: development of the legislative framework and the formulation of integrated policies for giving effect to and protecting child rights; provision of continuous training for personnel working for children’s rights and with children; the organization of community discussions and wide-scale information campaigns to raise public awareness of children’s rights; and the prosecution, trial and punishment of offenders, with use of publicity as a deterrent.
