Social Action Strategy 2016-2025 (in Arabic only)

January 2016

This strategy aims to achieve a balance between social and economic policies, as well as integration and coordination between them. It focuses on fortifying the Omani family and society to confront the expected accelerating changes at the national, regional and international levels. It also reconsiders the role of the Ministry of Social Development from providing services and social assistance to orphaned children, widows, the elderly, and people with disabilities, to a ministry that seeks to empower these groups and integrate them in jobs at the national level.

The strategy included a focus on family and community development aiming to achieve the outcome of "an integrated and equitable national protection system capable of preventing and responding to situations of violence, abuse and exploitation that may be encountered by children, women, persons with disabilities and other family members", through activities and programs achieving this outcome.
